Who am I
Updated: Sep 9, 2019
Hi, I’m Tommy Hyland, a young man from a small town in New Zealand with a passion for living life in the moment and spreading love in the world.
From a young age I dreamed of the incredible, limitless adventures I could pursue and the impact that I could have on the world as soon as I was big enough to get out in the world by myself.
However just a year or two away from my ‘freedom’ to live my life any way I wanted I found myself slumping into a depressive, cynical, anxious state. It seemed the older I got, and the closer I got to these dreams being a possible reality, the less I was encouraged to chase them and I started to question whether I was ‘worthy’ of that type of life. As if living life to the fullest was something you had to earn the right to even dream about, not a necessity for living a life that you love and leaving a positive impact on those around you. Luckily for me I had My Moment which completely changed my perspective on life back to that dreamer and lover of life I used to be.
A New Perspective
I realized very quickly that all my new goals revolved around making a positive impact on those around me, helping them to see in themselves what I saw a glimpse of in myself. It was a great struggle now to find exactly WHAT I could do to make my dreams become a reality until I rediscovered a quote that set me on my path.
The quote on the side here, made me realise that I needed to take time for myself and discover more of what was inside me that I could use to help people. I was very nervous about the upcoming chapter in my life because I knew I would receive a lot of judgement as it is perceived selfish and negative in this world to take time for yourself or do things purely because you love to do it. However, I came to the conclusion that ultimately the most precious gift you can give to people in this world is you. So I wanted to know exactly what I was giving people and make sure it was the best version of myself for me and everyone in my life. This is what I call a forever project because I will continue to learn, grow and discover myself until my time is up but now that I felt ‘comfortable in my own skin’ I was ready to start hopefully making a positive impact on others. Which has lead me to This Moment Here. Thank you for taking the time to get to know who I am and following my journey. I hope one day our paths will cross.
Spread the love.
